Have a tendency to get your priorities wrong? So did the those who returned from the Babylonian exile. Things weren't going very well. God didn't seem to be blessing. So God sends a prophet by the name of Haggai to remind the people of their priorities. God wants to bless them but they needed a basic reminder. God is supreme and must be first in their lives. This is a great message for today's culture. Join us in this study of Haggai the Prophet.

The just shall live by faith. Habakkuk 2:4 This little verse is quoted many times in the New Testament by Paul and the writer of Hebrews. Faith is the key element to our obedience. Habakkuk chooses a different way to write about the difficulties of his time. He brings the complaint of the people to God and God answers back. Why do the injustices and wickedness of this world prevail? God answers him by pointing to the Babylonians. Why would God punish the wicked nation by raising up a wicked nation that deserves to be destroyed themselves? God answers back. Join us for some interesting answers.

We come to Christ with many differing backgrounds and therefore we all have different luggage we carry. We all struggle with sin. At times we may even have unrealistic expectations of the Christian life or even wrong expectations about God. The journey of life with its struggles can be a rewarding experience. The book of Zephaniah has one of my favorite verses in it Zephaniah 3:17 in the NIV. One of the great kings and the last good king of Judah lived during the time of Zephaniah - King Josiah. He brought sweeping reforms to the nation but died to have one of the worst kings take his place Mannasseh. Zephaniah prophesied before this great reform took place. Learn the principles that God wants us to follow as a nation and as a people. A word of hope also is spoken to the people. "The Day of the Lord" is presented in Zephaniah. Carol joins Mark for a song at the end of the lesson.

We look at chapter two of 2 Peter in our lesson today. Peter is about to die and he has grave concerns about false prophets and false teachers. In chapter one he wants us to add to our faith so that we will be prepared for those who teach falsely and persuade others to fall away from our great Savior and lord Jesus. In this lesson we look at those who have fallen away and became these false teachers. God will hold them accountable. We once again look at the idea of eternal security.

Forgiveness is not an easy thing to do. People can hurt and that hurt can last for many years. What are we to do as Christians when confronted with the difficult task of forgiving someone who hurt us deeply? Shouldn't we make them pay? Are we just to tolerate their hurtful ways? What if I forgive them and they continue to hurt me? Should I comeback for more?

The great nation of Assyria and her capital Nineveh is about to have the wrath of God placed upon her. Nahum gives that message to this super power nation. Over 100 years earlier God had spared the nation through the prophet Jonah. But the nation did not continue in repenting and now God will hold her responsible. Don't know how I did it but I have accidentally missed a lesson - Lesson 13 Obadiah. This little book only has 1 chapter and 21 verses but it has a powerful lesson about ungodly nations and the little nation of Edom who was at odds with Israel and even rejoiced over the misfortunes of Israel. As we examine our life as a disciple of Jesus, we are reminded to look at our faithfulness and gentleness as compared to Jesus.
