The Apostle Paul understands that true freedom is not doing everything you have a right to do. He makes this revealed principle supreme in all he does. In realizing that there is something more important than rights, Paul explains that he has become a slave to something else. Join us as we reveal this hidden jewel. Paul lived in a world that was immoral and pagan. He was called to minister to the gentiles who were composed of a culture of sexually immoral people. Out of this troubled church, God was remaking men and women. "For such were some of you," Paul states. This new church was fragile and weak because there were a group of people who were causing dissension and teaching immoral doctrines. Paul said, "Flee Fornication." If Paul were here today, he would say the very same thing to us. Today we are going to look at what the Bible calls Fornication. The things that are important in life are the things Satan tries to keep from us. The Word of God is a life-changing and life saving revelation from God. My how Satan throws road blocks at us to keep us from studying it. Get rooted in the Word of God and in His truth! With a culture that is very different than the Jewish culture, Christianity is facing a new environment and a new viewpoint from those who are in the church. Christianity is in danger of becoming a philosophy rather than the life changing power that transforms people. The Corinthian church stands divided with wrong priorities. Paul addresses these division and puts them back on track with the focus of Christianity - Jesus. For our first lesson in this series we have a classroom of people. Even though we have been social distancing and quarantining, the world has not been quiet. In fact it has been very loud. Sometimes life gets that way. Many times I just long for some peace and quiet. If you are a person taking care of some little ones, you may understand that desire for solitude and silence. As Christians it is important for us to find the time to be alone with God and to be still and listen to Him. That means that sometimes we need to stop talking and let God do the talking. Wow! This minor Prophet has volumes to say about the Messiah-Jesus. He speaks of Christ's betrayal and rejection, triumphal entry into Jerusalem, The Good Shepherd, His forgiveness and mercy and any more topics. In fact, Zechariah talks much more about the Messiah than many prophets. He also ministered through his encouraging messages. Join us for this lesson on Zechariah.

It seems to me worship is one of the most controversial topic we could have chosen for a Disciple of Jesus to study. But maybe once we understand what worship is, we will come away with a more mature attitude. Our definition needs to be tweaked. What is designed to bring us together has separated us. - Maybe because our focus has been wrong. Join us for this challenging topic.
