Luke 1:57-66 John Is Named

In This passage we look at the naming of John The Baptist. Zacharias his father is healed and begins praising the Lord. This child is special for John The Baptist will have the task of preparing the nation of Israel for her Messiah. Zacharias has been silent unable to speak until he finally obeys the Lord and names the baby John. Join us as we go through the book of Luke learning the valuable lessons of life. 

Cheers For Jesus

Jesus heard the crowds cheer for Him in the triumphal entry. He heard them wanting to make Him king, But He also heard the crowd say, "Crucify Him". How did He feel as the fickle crowds changed their cheers for jeers. Someday every knee will bow and call Him Lord. Three Nails

These are the lyrics to a song written my John Conaway entitled Three Nails. For all that Christ has done for us, there were three nails waiting for Him at the cross. Those nails never accomplished what the enemies of Christ wanted, They gave us His precious blood and the forgiveness of sin. Praise God for His precious blood shed for us.

Luke 1:46-56 Mary Exalts the Lord

Mary Exalts the Lord for His faithfulness and His kindness to her and the nation. She realizes that the Messiah is in her womb and that she has been chosen to present this child to Israel. Listen to her praise as it pours out of her mouth. Luke 1:46-56

Luke 1:39-45 Mary and Elizabeth Greeting

This greeting by two expecting mothers proves to be quite an encounter. Join us for this special time. The mother of Jesus (Mary) and the mother (Elizabeth) of John The Baptist who was the prophet who would prepare a nation for the coming of the Messiah.

Mary is given an astounding message concerning the birth of Jesus The Messiah. It's hard to believe but God specializes in the impossible. She dedicates herself to such a task and is blessed by God. Jesus is declared The Son of God. His name reflects salvation

Continuing on with our Devotions, we turn to Luke 1:5-25. The Birth of John The Baptist is introduced to prepare the nation for the coming of the Messiah. But Zacharias doubts the message of the angel. Listen and see what happens next.

The Restoration Movement Lesson 2

We continue in our church history lessons with The Restoration Movement. Following the Reformation Period, it was discovered that many denominations did not go far enough in reforming Church government and church worship. They did not call things by Bible names and held practices that were church traditions rather than Biblical instructions. Out of this period of revival came a movement to get back to the New Testament way of practicing Christianity and church governances. The Restoration Movement was a product of many men. Thomas and Alexander Campbell, James O'Kelly, Alias Smith, Abner Jones, Barton W. Stone, Racoon John Smith were all men who saw the divisions of the church and trying to get back to the Bible making the church one as found in the New Testament scriptures. Mark Black teaches this lesson on the Restoration of the Christ's Church. 

Apostacy and Reformation Lesson 1

We are beginning a series on Church History. Why was there a Reformation? What went wrong with the church? We will be covering about about 2000 years of church history. Did the church stray from the biblical pattern or worship, government and practices of the New Testament Church? We will be looking at the apostacy or straying of the church from those scriptural patterns and mandates. In this church history course we will examine why the Restoration Movement followed the Reformation. Join us for this historical look at the church. Exodus Lesson 1

We begin a new lesson in the book of Exodus. Join us for an in depth study in Exodus as the Hebrew children become slaves in Egypt and find their hope in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Moses is saved from destruction by God. But everything must be done in God's timing and in God's way. Our adversities in life may become our blessing from God. In slavery the Hebrew children became a nation. God blessed them through their adversities. The plan of God is complicated but always perfect. God works through you and me and He is always in control - even in the confusion and hard times of life.
